Ma.Ja guided me through 8 weeks of intense introspection, artist & genre based research and practical activities to polish multiple aspects of my own craft and my thought process.
I found the program customised to MY needs and challenges and totally worth the investment.
What I took away is a learning of a lifetime, deeper insight into myself and confidence to deal with the roadblocks that i might face in the future. Thanks a bunch Ma.Ja

This was my second year at Mathangi’s, once a year, January free workshop. It was really thought provoking and really broadened my prepective on how to become the best version of myself.
My key takeaways were that 1% improvement each day can lead to 38% in a year and small daily growth can be explosive .
I really liked the acronym of F. E.A.R (False Evidence Appearing Real ) and I know that I have the power to overcome my fears, unleash my true self and discover, polish and share my gifts with the world.
The workshop has filled me with tremendous hope, inspiration and courage to go after my dreams and make them come true.
Thanks a lot Mathangi for curating such an amazing workshop.

I have attended Mathangi’s workshops, three years in a row and also been part of her 2019 Mastermind Circle. Mathangi, is super knowledgable and takes us through areas like artistic fears, healthy eating, time management , body awareness and vocal health . After attending her sessions, I realised how these areas were proving to be bottlenecks in my own commitment to my craft and day to day practice. My big big thanks to Mathangi for helping me realise my strengths and giving my singing proper direction. This year( 2020) , I was surprised that the list of my fears had dramatically reduced by 40% . Thanks Mathangi for creating such efficient and effective programs.

Dear Ma.Ja,
Being part of such an insightful workshop was really great. I personally love attending such workshops to enhance my knowledge of music.
Having learnt music for almost ten years, I have realised that the most important instrument of a vocalist is her voice.
The best part of the workshop was when you discussed a large gamut of factors that play an important role in vocal health and longevity. Also, the 24hr pie chart helped me understand the importance of planning our time ( something i often crib about).
Looking forward to being part of many such workshops of yours.
Yours lovingly,
Music StudentIsha
Dear Mathangi,
It was indeed a truly informative workshop where I got to learn many things that I wasn't aware of earlier. The most interesting part of the workshop for me was the 24hr pie chart that personally helped me understand the importance of managing time.
I could also relate to many of the fears that you discussed, that can hold back a person from achieving their full potential.
I would also like to appreciate the positivity and energetic vibes you spread through your workshop and that indicates to me that if one has the will to achieve something, they can definitely do it with the proper mindset.
With warm regards

Mathangi, let me start by thanking you for being the initiating element in my life. To guide and help people, so that they don’t make the same mistakes you did, health wise and vocally, is not something everybody does. In the last two years, since attending your workshop, I have become more disciplined, I’ve worked on my mindset, removed toxicity from my life, improved hydration, quit dairy and alcohol, understood my signature sound, and overall become happier and healthier.
Your strength and selflessness has helped me grow and I’ve started aligning myself with those with similar beliefs and values. You pushed all the right buttons, at the right time, and I’m thankful for that.

I am not a musician , nor do I have a single musical muscle in my body, but I am surely somebody who is interested in good health, be it mental, physical or in this case vocal.
The annual, free workshop is not only for musicians, it is for anyone who wants to improve their vocal health and that could be one’s speaking voice as well.
Mathangi always inspires people in her own unique style and she gave a lot of tips and shared resources which will help in daily life. I am glad I attended this one and would encourage others to do so too.

Mathangi as the name suggests is the goddess of music and learning. Her personality reflects in her name - MaJa.
I came with an intention of networking with people who have aninclination towards yoga. Indeed that intention was fulfilled.
However what I took back extra was the discipline and passion required to achieve my goal.
Ma.Ja’s energy is contagious.
What inspired me more is the way she connects AFTER the workshop. This shows that she really means what she says and wants to bring the best out of a person. All I can say is Thank You so much for all your time and I look forward to having more sessions. I would also suggest people to please attend Ma.Ja's workshop, if they are confused in their life path. They might get a hint :)

2018 , my year pretty much began with Ma.Ja’s workshop and it inspired me in more ways than one. Her workshop helped in prioritizing my goals and taking those right baby steps in achieving them. 2019 was my second workshop with her and that in itself should be a clear indication of the kind of impact she can create.
I would strongly recommend folks not just in the music arena, but others too, to attend her workshop , as it’s food for thought, mind, body and soul.
I can confidently tell you that you will come back with enough motivation to chase whatever it is that you have always wanted.
Ma.Ja, thank you again. Appreciate your commitment to the cause. You have inspired many of us and am sure you will continue to do so.
It’s not easy to do what you do.
You rock !

The ONE THING that I took back from the Wholistic Vocalist workshop was the idea that anything I want to change about myself should happen step by step.
Post workshop, I promised myself that I would start working on my laid back ways and take steps to overcome procrastination. I already feel different.
Thank you Mathangi for this workshop.

The Wholistic Vocalist workshop has given me new perspective on taking care of vocal health. We were asked some very interesting questions during the workshop, which I would have never guessed were relevant to vocal health. For example, how important it is to remain hydrated or how our posture helps/affects our singing.
Ma.Ja taught us a therapeutic vocal exercise called the YAWN SIGH, and although it felt a little strange, it was interesting how it relaxes the voice.
The one thing I took back from this workshop is that CHANGING ONE THING can greatly impact all other aspects of my life and NOT to underestimate the power of small steps.
Once again thank you Mathangi for this wonderful workshop.

It was a wonderful workshop and I got to know about many things that I had never heard of before. If I were to be really honest, I am totally in love with Ma.Ja’s personality , her aura and her communication skills . I particularly appreciated the way she cherished each of us. I take this opportunity to pay tribute to the wonderful work she is doing and I look forward to attending her upcoming sessions.

What I personally found very useful were the examples of several icons of the music industry and what kind of work they had to put in across years to get masterful.
I think these examples helped me get clear about the kind of work I need to put in, to move the needle in terms of craft. I also realised that even the most gifted artists, work incredibly hard on their craft. Nothing happens magically.
Now I’m able to FREELY work on my day job with focus and commitment and also give my best to music. The workshop also covered an array of fears that interfere with our ability to live a CREATIVE LIFE. I really enjoyed the process of DISCOVERING MY SELF by asking there important questions. And of course.... I mustn’t forget the yummy smoothie :)
Thanks a lot Mathangi for such a wonderful informative workshop.
Looking forward to attend many more :)

I had a very exciting half a day session , full of laughs , a lot of learning, tips on vocal health and an opportunity to meet other passionate musicians. I realised that this workshop had content not only for singers, but also for professionals who use their speaking voice extensively.
I would encourage everyone, who wishes to take care of their voices and have long careers, to attend her session at least once.
Thanks Ma.Ja for this wonderful opportunity and “Maja aa gaya…”

It was at Mathangi's Wholistic Vocalist workshop that I was introduced to the term " vocal athlete ". I realised that I needed to focus on my entire body and not only on my vocal cords.
Towards meeting my vocal athlete goals , I met a speech language pathologist ( never knew such a professional before ) , an acupuncturist , a raw vegan food specialist and attended sessions with a yoga expert and tai chi master.
All these referrals came from Mathangi during and after her workshop. It is important to mention that mathangi’s involvement continued after the workshop and that ongoing interaction with her has helped me with timely corrective actions.

As part of the wholisic vocalist community , it has been an enriching experience to be connected to fellow passionate musicians and Ma.Ja. I find her insights to be unique and they come in very handy.
Singing is an all-encompassing art form and this is demonstrated very well by Ma.Ja.

Mathangi is a modern day Sifu, a Chinese term for teacher-parent. She teaches her students that being an artist is more than just your skills and the complexity of your vocal gymnastics , it is a way of life. She shows her students how to safely wade through their pool of emotions, empowering them with great weapons to deal with demons like the fear of failure, shame, arrogance , procrastination, laziness and self-doubt. She dons many roles when the student needs it.
Mathangi doesn’t teach her students to sing, she prepares them on what it takes to BE a singer and to LIVE the life of an artist.

Attending the Wholistic Vocalist worskshop was one of the best things i’ve done for myself. I was exposed to a whole world of knowledge and insights and that has helped me understand my body better. This has catapulted my singing to a level where I can truly enjoy my singing!!!

I've done one on ones with Mathangi , been a part of the What’s your SinGnature bootcamp and kept in touch through messages and there are THREE big take aways. 1. None of the problems are surface level, 2. be compassionate to yourself and others 3. your greatness lies in believing in not just yourself but also in others.
Today, I have better understanding of my voice, my life and my choices. To be a part of a community where there are many more budding singers, sharing similar issues, sets the premise right - "We are all but work in progress." And this came as a blow to my perfectionist attitude, which was plaguing my progress for the longest time!

What’s your SinGnature bootcamp helped me dive deeper into my personal self and my artistry. Knowing oneself (with respect to beliefs, biases and other such things ) is an important aspect directly related to ones art. The boot camp also gave me a systematic method to help understand my artistic inclinations through exposure to various genres / artists. To sum it up, this is an ongoing process and I am currently on that path to breaking more barriers and 'slayin dragons' to discover the REAL ME.
